What Is Time, Really?

Time is not a straight line. It is more like a plane — a field… And within this field, we navigate using our perception. Scientists have already acknowledged: Time is not absolute, but relative. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity clearly demonstrates this. Time changes depending on our speed, our location, even how we feel. But it’s not just about physics…Spiritual teachings, consciousness studies, and ancient wisdom whisper the same truth: Time is a state of consciousness. And it flows exactly as we perceive it. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow…


Why Does Time Feel Like It Flies as We Age?


1. Mental NoiseThe mind never stops. Plans, the past, the future, responsibilities… When our mind constantly runs ahead, we miss the present moment. The less awareness we have, the faster time seems to pass.


2. Technological Consumption Social media, binge-watching shows, endless notifications… We live in a world overloaded with visual stimuli. This speed prevents us from truly absorbing time. Moments become snapshots — seen but not felt.


3. Repetitive Routines Doing the same things every day makes the brain say, “I already know this.”So it doesn’t record the moment. Looking back, those days seem blurry and rushed.No new or noticeable memory = no sense of lasting time.


4. The Adult Brain Perceives Time Differently As children, time feels vast because everything is new. With age, the brain processes familiar things faster.The result? Time feels shorter — because novelty and wonder have faded.


5. Lack of Inner Balance When the soul, heart, and mind are out of sync, we lose our connection to time.If you’re not fully present, time no longer belongs to you — it becomes a treadmill beneath your feet.
